CricAuction Player Setup Guide: Add Players, Bulk Upload, Registration & Reports
Getting CricAuction player setup right is what decides whether auction day runs smoothly or turns into a last-minute scramble. Here's every way to add players — one by one, through Excel, or by a self-registration link — plus how categories, base prices and sold/unsold reports work once your list is ready.

Three Ways to Add Players in CricAuction
Most auctions end up using a mix of all three, depending on how many players you're managing and how much time you have before bidding starts.
Add Single Player
Enter one player at a time with full details. Best for small, local tournaments.
Bulk Upload
Download the sample Excel sheet, fill it, import it back. Fastest for 20+ players.
Registration via Link
Players fill their own form through a shared link. You approve each entry.
| Method | Best For | Approval Needed |
|---|---|---|
| Add Single Player | Small local tournaments | No |
| Bulk Upload (Excel) | Large player pools, saves time | No |
| Registration via Link | Remote or self-service sign-up | Yes |
How to Add a Single Player
Open the Players tab inside your auction and tap the + icon. Fill in the player's name, mobile number, age, playing role, batting style, bowling style, a photo and a base price, then save.
- Open the Players tab in your auction
- Tap the + icon to add a new player
- Enter name, mobile number, age and role
- Add batting style, bowling style and a photo
- Set the base price and save
How to Bulk Upload Players via Excel
For a 30, 60 or 100-player pool, entering each player manually eats into auction-day time. Bulk Upload lets you download a sample Excel sheet, fill in your full player list, and import it back in one go.
- Open Players and select Bulk Upload
- Download the sample Excel sheet
- Fill in each player's details in the sheet
- Save the file and import it back
- Check the imported list before moving on
Player Registration via Link
If you'd rather not chase every player for their details, generate a registration link instead. Share it in your tournament group or on social media, and players fill in their own information.
- Organizer generates and shares the registration link
- Player opens the link and fills the form
- Entry is submitted for review
- Organizer approves the player into the pool
You can also customize this registration form — add a registration fee or any extra field you want players to fill in before they join the pool.

Player Categories & Base Price
Once players are in, categories keep the auction organized — batsmen, bowlers, all-rounders, or simple A/B/C tiers, whatever suits your tournament. Each category needs a name, a minimum bid, and an increment — the amount the price jumps by as bidding climbs.
Base price is the starting value for each player. It can be set individually when adding a single player, or included as a column when you bulk upload through Excel.
Sold, Unsold & Player Reports
Once bidding starts, every player lands in one of three tabs, so you always know where the auction stands.
- Sold — players bought by a team, with final bid amount
- Unsold — players not picked during their turn
- Available — players still waiting to come up for bidding
When the auction wraps up, export any of these lists as PDF or Excel, complete with name, age, role, team and final bid amount — handy for team sheets and post-auction records.
"A clean player list does half the work before the auction even begins."
